THE REAL ROOMS, RECONSTRUCTED

A closer Louvre.

Walk through Salle Mollien (700), Salon Denon (701), Salle Daru (702), and Salle des États (711). Their proportions and connections follow the Louvre’s published first-floor plan. The complete published inventories of these four rooms are represented: 128 wall paintings and four Salon Denon ceiling compositions. Wall paintings use museum dimensions; the ceiling’s full photographic decoration follows a continuous curved vault.

The Mona Lisa occupies its separate central display wall, facing The Wedding at Cana. The red galleries use the museum’s room records and photographs, including a dated 2016 view of Salle Daru.

Room assignments are verified against all 132 individual records; most wall positions and hanging heights are approximate. Architecture and decoration are modeled interpretations, not a laser survey or a claim to reproduce today’s complete hanging. Each painting identifies its placement evidence.
